COTTAGE ON GRACE

Bright white window seat with a blue cushion, colorful pillows, a yellow throw, and a stack of books with a cup of tea. A round window with a sconce above the seat, and a white side table with pink flowers in front.
Cozy bedroom with a white upholstered bed, blue and floral pillows, and a purple blanket. A lamp with patterned shade and books sits on a white chest beside the bed, with a large abstract blue artwork hanging above the bed and a vintage rug below.
A charming mudroom befitting of an English-inspired home—vintage-inspired pendants line the hall and add a dose of architectural interest while the herringbone brick flooring lends warmth and rugged durability.

The painted brick and stucco exterior are accented by authentic standing seam zinc metal roofing, porch bracketing, custom shutters and shutter hardware that work together to reference the home’s nod to French architecture.

  • This lovely traditional home in Northville, Michigan was designed for empty nesters with young grandchildren nearby who adore hosting family gatherings. Inspired by English cottages and the sweeping gables of Tudors, Ramsay Nye collaborated closely with Joseph Mosey Architecture to design a custom home that felt at ease in its historic neighborhood. Coming from a residence that was dark and heavy, the couple was craving lightness and brightness throughout, so each space was designed to maximize the natural light and create a comfortable, easy vibe that is ideal for entertaining.
