PUMA YU’S
“Imagine sitting in a cozy booth with five best friends. A chandelier extends from the vaulted ceilings and a painting of a matador sparks conversation.”
“That unique vibe includes vintage, Murano glass lights, gargoyle sconces, a big banquette, custom art and a covered patio built into the side of the hill.”
“It has a different feel than anywhere else in Athens. Like an embrace — it’s warm and inviting. There’s an incredibly specific vibe here and that was the point. We wanted to create an experience that was wholly unique to Puma Yu’s.”

A wine and cocktail-forward bar serving small-plate Thai cuisine, this unique restaurant is located in the historic Southern Mill building in Athens, Georgia. The vision was a space that felt well-worn and swanky—nothing too precious—with an emphasis on vintage charm. Found objects, lush plants, vintage lighting, and eclectic art come together to create an immersive atmosphere bursting with rich color and layered textures. The venue transports guests the moment they walk through the door—one that makes guests feel like they are not in Athens anymore. Key to that experience are the furnishings themselves—a stunning custom white oak and walnut bar with terrazzo countertops, custom banquettes and booths, and bespoke shelving, all designed to evoke a sense of effortless cool.
