This charming home—situated east of Atlanta, Georgia—was pieced together over the years from previous renovations, creating a floorplan that felt joyously haphazard including a tree growing through the middle of the kitchen island. For this young family in love with color and pattern, Ramsay Nye took inspiration from the lush treehouse-like view from the expansive living room windows overlooking a dense forest with a creek behind the home. The design narrative proposed a complete renovation of the kitchen and optimization of the open floor plan. A comfortable and highly liveable space was designed that was infused with greens, blues, and natural fibers as well of hints of terra cotta, russet red, pink, and ochre. The finishing layer includes an abundance of art and ceramics from local artists, resulting in a space that invites lounging and entertaining and that is filled with life, laughter, fresh flowers, and kids’ art projects proudly on display.
